LAFD: 2 Critically Injured in Sun Valley Hit-and-Run

A man and a woman on a bench are struck by a motorist who drives off, according to the LAFD.

A man and a woman seated on a bus bench in Sun Valley were critically injured Saturday when they were struck by a motorist, a fire official said.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to Sheldon Street at San Fernando Road at 10:21 a.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

The two had been seated on a bus bench on the southeast corner of Sheldon at San Fernando when they were hit.

Police officers chased several "hit and run suspects'' in the area shortly after the crash, according to police radio dispatches. But Los Angeles Police Department supervisors did not immediately have details about the incident.
