Two people were rescued from the Los Angeles River Sunday night after a two-vehicle crash that sent at least one into the Burbank Western Channel wash in Sun Valley, a city fire official said.

The crash was reported at 6:42 p.m. in the 8100 block of Glenoaks Boulevard, according to Shawn Lenske of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Two people were pulled from the wreckage off the Lanark bridge in a litter basket, said Lenske.
