Folsom Prison Blues? Not on Saturday Thanks to NoHo Nonprofit

The Center for Restorative Justice brings children to visit their incarcerated fathers.

The Center for Restorative Justice in North Hollywood made it a happy early Father's Day for many incarcerated fathers in Folsom State Prison on Saturday.

The North Hollywood-based nonprofit, which "re-weaves the web of relationships that have been torn apart by crime and the policies of the criminal justice system," according to its Web site, bused children from Southern California up north to the prison made famous by Johnny Cash in the song Folsom Prison Blues.

But as the Sacromento Bee reported, it was mostly smiles at Folsom on Saturday. The prison is located about 20 miles east of Sacramento. According to the Bee, the nonprofit CRJW has been doing this "Get on the Bus" event for 12 years, but this was the first time it took place at Folsom.
