Anyone with an opinion (especially business owners) on having a bike lane in the NoHo Arts District along Lankershim Boulevard at the cost of losing a traffic lane will have another opportunity to speak their mind on Wednesday.
The Mid-Town NoHo Neighborhood Council is setting aside some time at its board meeting to hear feedback on an issue that has two main opposing views: supporters believe bike lanes would help NoHo in its progress to becoming a destination, while others are concerned losing the northbound lane could spark a traffic nightmare.
But this isn't the last chance to speak on the item.
"The future town hall meeting date will be announced at this time where all are invited including other neighborhood councils who may wish to have input as well by this change," said Barbara Nance, co-chair of the local neighborhood council's planning committee.
It could be after that town hall takes place when the Mid-Town NoHo Neighborhood Council would make a recommendation to the city on whether to have bikes lanes on Lankershim.
The public comment period for the project's environmental impact report closed a week ago, but Dave Somers, a bicycle planner with the city, said written feedback can still be submitted on the overall issue.
The Los Angeles City Council has the final say on proposed bike lanes and a vote could be cast as early as the beginning of summer.
The Mid-Town NoHo Neighborhood Council meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Senior Citizens Center at North Hollywood Park 5301 Tujunga Blvd. Food will be served at 6:30 p.m.
