Memorial Bike Ride Planned for Hit-and-Run Victim

A 45-minute silent ride is dedicated to a Valley Glen teen who died in a tragic accident a few months ago.

A memorial bicycle ride is being held Wednesdsay for a Valley Glen teen who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in March.

David Alexander Granados, 18, was riding his bike on Oxnard Street at Bellaire Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle that ran a red light, authorities said. He died the next day from his injuries.

The silent ride for the teen, who was a senior at Grant High School, starts at 3:50 p.m., though those who plan on participating should arrive half an hour earlier.

Meet-up is at the stage area in the quad near the front of the school on Oxnard (just inside the front gates). The ride will last for about 45 minutes.

The event is being organized by the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. Anyone is invited to participate, though wearing a helmet is required.
