The incident at 10911 Victory Boulevard occurs about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

UPDATE 12:45 p.m.

Two police officers suffered minor injuries, and a suspected burglar was shot and wounded outside a 99 Cents Only store in North Hollywood, police said Sunday.

The officers were injured when they were attacked with a "wooden object" by a burglary suspect, who was subsequently shot by one of the officers, said Los Angeles police officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The officers were treated at the scene and released. Paramedics rushed the burglary suspect to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, Joseph said.

The officers had been sent to a report of two burglars inside the store at Victory Boulevard and Vineland Avenue at about 10:30 p.m., said Officer Bob Collier at the LAPD North Hollywood Station.

One of the burglars attempted to run away from the scene and was chased down by two police officers. During the chase the suspect picked up a "wooden object" and tried to attack the officers, Joseph said.

"There was a confrontation with one suspect and an officer-involved shooting occurred," Collier said.

It was not immediately known if there actually was a second burglary suspect, Joseph said.
