Poll: Where is the Best Local Cup of Joe?

Vote for your favorite here.

The Republic of Pie opened up recently in the NoHo Arts District and so far has been getting some rave reviews for its coffee. But it's not the only great cup of coffee around, and it got us wondering what our readers might think is the best in the North Holllywood/Toluca Lake area. Vote in the poll below.

Patch contributor and Shaena Engle weighed in on the subject last year. So, what do you think? We have grabbed some of the best coffee places we know of and put them in the list below. (And sorry, Starbucks, we aren't including chains in the poll, as we wanted to focus on coffee that can only be found here. I still love your cafe mocha, though.)

Did we miss some place? Tell us in the Comments and we will add it to the list and the poll, which will be open all week until Friday.

Dang, didn't realize that the Cahuenga General store had that many people that liked their coffee. May have to check it out. There another independent coffee place on Cahuenga Blvd and Collins Street that gets rave reviews. I think it used to be called Green Carrot Coffee house, but I think they have new ownership.

We may not have the fancy new brewers or the most dramatic latte art at the General Store, but we have a lot of people that know coffee... because we love coffee! Iced Americano is my favorite. Come by and try some!

I think I will have to walk over to the General Store this weekend. I ALMOST stopped in a few weeks ago, but there was a performer doing a set on the stage and it seems a little weird to interrupt and come in with a stroller and stuff.

We hope you do, Joanna! We're open Saturdays from 10-3 and select Saturdays do have shows in the evenings. Stop in and say hello!

Just a note to the General store. I was planning to go there this weekend, but the graffiti on your window is a bit intimidating. Your neighbor (the actors studio) looks very nice. Just an honest recommendation from a local.

Interesting observation Jean. I've recently started patronizing the General Store as I now live a block away. It's a great place on the inside. But you're right - I used to pass it and think it was closed down because of the graffiti.

Thanks for your feedback Jean! We are looking into getting the graffiti removed. It was unfortunately done in acid, and either has to get a specialized treatment or replace the windows, both of which are a bit pricey. But don't let the windows scare you away, inside there is a whole different world!

Laura, thanks for patronizing us! We really appreciate it!
