Woman Reportedly Raped Near Ventura Blvd. in Studio City

The LAPD releases a sketch of a man wanted in connection with the alleged attack.

The LAPD North Hollywood Division on Wednesday released a sketch of a man suspected of raping a woman in an alley behind the 12000 block of Ventura Boulevard between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Radford Avenue in Studio City around 11 p.m. on July 19.

According to an alert issued by the LAPD, the suspect approached the victim from behind, held a knife to her throat and forced her to the ground before sexually assaulting her.

Police released a composite drawing of the suspect, described as black,
40-45 years old, about 5 feet 4 inches to 6 feet tall, 130-170 pounds, with a tattoo on his right forearm. He wore blue jeans, a blue T-short and white tennis shoes.

The LAPD encourages anyone with information on this crime to call Detective McChesney or Pinner of the North Hollywood Sexual Assault Unit at 818-623-4090 or on weekends and afterhours at 818-623-4016 or 877-LAPD-247.
