The honor is in connection with the launch of its reruns on the Me-TV digital television channel this month.
The City Council will declare today "My Three Sons Day" in Los Angeles, honoring the 1960-72 comedy in connection with the launch of its reruns on the Me-TV digital television channel this month. Stanley Livingston, who played Chip Douglas, his brother Barry, who played Ernie Douglas, Tim Considine, who played Mike Douglas on the show's first five seasons, and Tina Cole, who played Katie Miller Douglas, will join Councilman Tom LaBonge at a ceremony at City Hall. My Three Sons premiered on ABC on Sept. 29, 1960, and starred Fred MacMurray as widowed consulting aviation engineer Steve Douglas raising three sons (Considine, Don Grady and Stanley Livingston) with the assistance of his father-in-law, Bub (William Frawley), in the fictional …

In her directorial debut, Drina Durazo keeps the action moving and the chemistry between the characters intense.
A farce without substance is like a tree without roots. Yet those are abundant. A farce on the rarer side now inhabits the Lonny Chapman Theatre and is produced by The Group Repertory in the NoHo Arts District through June 24. It is Ken Ludwig’s Moon Over Buffalo and it tickles the funny bone to the nth degree. It is the story of a struggling theatrical family that tries to keep its company alive by performing "hack versions of popular theater classics." When the actors find themselves in Buffalo unable to meet payroll and the announcement that the legendary film director Frank Capra is coming to check out the company is made, all hell breaks loose. The depth here resides beneath the surface in characters that are frustrated with their lot…

After a record-setting opening weekend, "The Avengers" had a sequel of sorts by earning another $103 million between Friday and Sunday to give it the best second weekend of release in movie history, according to final figures released today. "The Avengers" eclipsed the $300 million mark in a record-setting nine days, and has now earned $373.1 million. Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton's latest collaboration, "Dark Shadows" debuted in a distant second place, earning $29.7 million between Friday and Sunday. It seems calm around the neighborhood only hours before President Obama comes to visit.
UPDATE: Air Force One landed a little early at 6:20 p.m. and now he is on his way to a quick speech and then to Studio City. Stay with Patch for all the latest. People are still walking their dogs up and down the tiny streets around Fryman Canyon in Studio City. If it weren't for the couple of houses with flags out front, or all the signs that say "NO PARKING THURSDAY ONLY" all around, then it would seem like business as usual. That is, except for George Clooney's house. There's a buzz of activity. Big heat lamps are lined up outside his driveway on the street. Celebrity shuttles are already lined up. Catering trucks are parked on the steep driveway. Up the hill just behind a thin layer of trees, a giant blow-up tent, about the size of a …
Check out the photos and read some trivia.
Did you miss your invitation to George Clooney's party in Studio City when President Obama is arriving? Or maybe you just didn't have $40,000 in spare change laying around for a ticket. So you're not one of the lucky 150 going to the party Thursday night, but above is the video of Clooney's house, and the best photos of Clooney in his Fryman Canyon home that Patch can find. See the detailed video of a tour of his house above, and some secrets about his house. Also check out this video of the house, CLICK HERE. Here are some trivia items about his house too. * There are multiple bars throughout the house. * The house is 7,354-square-feet. * Stevie Nicks used to live there during her Fleetwood Mac days. * He has a mini theater and an …

Considered one of the top dance schools, the business on Lankershim Boulevard is now offering franchise opportunities.
Some of the most famous feet in the world have touched its floors. Whether it’s Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber or Prince, they all have held rehearsals or tryouts at the Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood’s NoHo Arts District on Lankershim Boulevard. Those celebs are just a short list of the famous feet that have traversed the floors and helped make it the No. 1 central hub of the dance world in Los Angeles. But what makes it such a Mecca for dancers isn’t just the famous celebs that continually use it, it’s the fact that quite literally anyone can walk in off the street and take a class from one of the world’s top choreographers. “It’s not just a dance school, it’s not just a …

The unique fIlm festival got its start with Jodi Fung from Studio City.
Jodi Fung moved to Studio City from the Bay Area about a dozen years ago. The journalism major is also an actress. She also loves movies, and cares about people. She found a way to merge all of her loves with the FILManthropy Festival—a unique film festival that connects filmmakers with charities and helps raise money for worthy causes as people go to the movies. They are picky about who they choose to put in the festival. "The film has to have a good message, and we ask that the filmmaker and the audience connect with a charity of their choice," said Fung. "It is amazing then to see how people get inspired to do something." Fung lives in Studio City where she also formed the volunteer group The Sirens Society (www.sirenssociety.org) now …

This play about Southern outcasts hits all the right notes.
When choosing a play as a production the choices are often not easy. But when a unique, seldom-produced piece is chosen by a company determined to make it work, magic can often be the result. Such is the case with the Collaborative Artists Ensemble’s staging of Carson McCullers’ The Square Root of Wonderful at the Raven Playhouse in the NoHo Arts District through May 27. This play about Southern outcasts hits all the right notes. It is human in its portrayal of pain and suffering, accurate in its understanding of the twisted fate of love and heartbreaking in its characterization of loss, misery and ruin. But McCullers sumptuous language and beautiful spirit somehow make this story soar. It is the tale of Mollie, a woman twice-divorced from…

All day Saturday is Free Comic Book day.
It’s Free Comic Book day on Saturday—traditionally the first Saturday in May, and coincidentally (lately) the same time a big blockbuster comic-book style movie hits the theaters. This year, of course, it’s The Avengers, expecting to blast off into the stratosphere as far as box office records. But, in North Hollywood, a local dad is trying a new style of comic book promotions, linking up with The Federal, the Laemmle NoHo 7 Theaters, NE1 Skate Shop, The Knitting Factory and all the places that comic book fans will be gathering this weekend. “We’re going to try something that hasn’t been done before,” said Jud Meyers, whose daughter attends Carpenter Community Charter. “Rather than have a brick-and-mortar building where people come to …
