1: Head to the Lonny Chapman Theatre for a performance of Awake and Sing. Set in the Bronx in the 1930s, this timeless  American classic takes us into the heart and home of the Berger Family where  first generation ideals clash with the younger generation's struggle for independence and freedom. Fri/Sat 8 p.m.  Sun 2 p.m.  Talk-back Sundays:  Oct.6 and 27.  Admission: $22. Seniors/Students: $17.  Groups 10+: $15.  Ladies Night Fridays: Ladies ½ price. Buy tix/info: www.thegrouprep.com or (818) 763-5990.  Lonny Chapman Theatre.  10900 Burbank Blvd.  North Hollywood 91601.

2: The annual Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios has begun (http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/2013/), but if you’re looking for something a little more tame for the kids, the Toluca Lake Pumpkin Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Oct. 31, complete with a pumpkin Patch and petting zoo at 10601 Riverside Drive, Toluca Lake

3: The artists behind The Mighty Squirm will showcase their works that give a .... umm ... creepy spin to say the least on the Enlightment era. All I have to say is: Benjamin Franklin holding a snake. Yeah. The artworks will be on display at Cella Gallery and a grand opening is being held on Saturday at 7 p.m. Event is free. 11135 Weddington St. #112 Click here for more event info.
