3: High School Ghost Story, an original production, is debuting at the Avery Schreiber Playhouse. Presented by the Mirror Theatre Co., students who are working on rehearsing a mysterious play are haunted by spirits of productions past and all sorts of spectral beings who linger after the final bell. 4: The annual Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios has begun (http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/2013/), but if you’re looking for something a little more tame for the kids, the Toluca Lake Pumpkin Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Oct. 31, complete with a pumpkin Patch and petting zoo at 10601 Riverside Dr., Toluca Lake.
