NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Actress/singer and local resident Erin Muir is launching a funding campaign to finance her upcoming music album.

“We are now seeking 'finishing funds' for this project in order to finish mixing, mastering, producing physical copies of the CDs, setting up distribution through iTunes, and the many, many other financial responsibilities that come with being an independent artist,” she said.

Having received a Family Foundation Grant for Artists, Muir has the bulk of the funding to complete the album, but more is needed from fans and supporters alike.

“The money covers studio time and small stipends to the musicians I’ve hired, although everyone is donating a lot of additional time and talent out of the spirit of artistry, and a shared love of music,” she said.

The proposed album, called “Songs,” will consist of highly popular classical and operatic songs such as “Nessum Dorma,” “Dreams” and others which Muir has been performing for years. With constant requests for music she performs, Muir began planning for this album earlier this year. And thanks to the funding site IndieGoGo.com, Muir is optimistic about reaching a $3,000 goal to complete the project by Dec. 5.

Among the rewards for those donating are an autographed copy of the album, digital downloads of the album, tickets to a concert by Muir, dinner with her and many other perks and rewards.

Known for her work in the films “Not Another B Movie,” and “Space Daze,” Muir is a New York-to-Los Angeles bi-coastal actress, writer, composer, singer, and comedienne who has worked professionally in the worlds of classical, new age and pop music, film, television, theater, improv, recording studios and art spaces. First recognized in the International Touring Cabaret titled “Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret and Burlesque” when she was not yet of legal age, she became known as International Girl because of her penchant for singing arias in various languages, sometimes even its original and proper one.

Muir would go on to receive awards for her play “My Life as a Phone Psychic,” followed by her acclaimed one-woman show, “The One.” In 2009, on Spinout Records, Muir released “Poet’s Lovely Daughter,” an album which critics described as “moody and sublime.” Following that release, she was named “Best Female Performer of 2010” by Rockwired Magazine and played the SXSW (South By Southwest) Festival.
