Introducing Patch Community Blogs

Our first open blog is about biking in North Hollywood and Toluca Lake.

We're trying something new on North Hollywood-Toluca Lake Patch: community blogs.

With our new platform, Patch sites lost our community photo galleries. Instead, we have open blogs, where we can invite readers to enter posts about all sorts of topics.

Our first open blog is a place for community members to come together and discuss biking in and around North Hollywood and Toluca Lake. In a blog post, you can post something as simple as a photo from a favorite ride to an in-depth discussion about the best bikes and routes in the area.

In recent months, bike lanes have been a topic of conversation (see Patch stories here and here). Working groups with community members are still in progress to gather feedback about where bike lanes should go, said Jeremy Oberstein, communications director for LA City Councilman Paul Krekorian.

A blog post would be an excellent place to discuss where lanes should be and why.

Get the details about getting started here.

We hope you'll get in on the conversation. And if bikes aren't your thing, let us know what you'd like to start a community discussion about!
