Metro Offering Free Rides on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve

Fares will not be charged on all Metro Rail and Bus lines.

The following information is from Metro:

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) will be offering free service on its transit system this Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve to help L.A. County residents enjoy the holidays safely and without the hassle of driving. 

No fares will be charged on all Metro Rail and Bus lines starting at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24 until2 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and from 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31 until 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Those traveling after 2 a.m. will need to pay their fare using their TAP cards.
