Mr. Mayor: Make NoHo Your New Home

Proud residents of districts all over the city are inviting Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to move to their respective neighborhoods as his term and stay at the Getty House in Windsor Square wind down.

Zocalo held an adopt-a-mayor contest to find the best invitation and one of the runner-ups was by David Bloom, a local communications strategist, who listed in great detail many of North Hollywood draws, businesses and how some of its shortcomings, like the abandoned Valley Plaza, aren't so bad.

In his submission, "North Hollywood: Actually, We're the Center of the World," Bloom counted off the large offering of theatrical venues, the revitalization of the NoHo Arts District and, ahem, how close the community is to some of the most attractive newscasters in the Southland.

Many businesses like the Federal Bar, MP's Soul Food and Spumante are mentioned in his piece.
