Volunteers Beautify Whitsett Slope

Removing litter, seeding and removing weeds are just some of the efforts made toward beautifying the public lot.

About 100 volunteers took the job of beautification into their own hands on Saturday when they spent the morning cleaning and restoring the Whitsett Slope.

Located near the intersection of Whitsett Avenue and Saticoy Street, those who attended removed litter from the small city-owned hill. They also helped with picking weeds, digging, seeding, and mulching the area.

"Through an extraordinary partnership between the city and the neighborhood, we worked together to help realize our collective vision of revitalizing this area as we continue to improve quality of life in the San Fernando Valley," said L.A. City Councilman Paul Krekorian.
