Volunteers Spruce Up Local Streets Once Again

Volunteers and members of the North Hollywood North East Neighborhood Council got their hands dirty again over the weekend to beautify their neighborhood.

With some tools and refreshments provided by LA City Councilman Paul Krekorian's office, more than 50 volunteers, including high school students from the Upward Bound program, helped clear trash and debris along Lankershim Boulevard between Vose Street and Sherman Way.

In other cleanup news, nonprofit Sun Valley Graffiti Busters has removed nearly 450,000 pounds of bulky items from local streets, while the
Bureau of Sanitation cleared out nearly 749,000 pounds of bulky items in September.
