West Tolucans Mingle and Rummage at Annual Yard Sale

More than a dozen West Toluca Lake homeowners took to their lawns with treasures and other trinkets for the neighborhood's 19th annual community yard sale.

The day started early when seasoned pickers scooped up big ticket items like furniture and sporting goods, while residents rummaged around for other goods through the afternoon.

Kristen Madrigal, who hosted a yard sale, said the event was just one of the many ways she stays close with her neighbors.

"We do block parties, everyone is really supportive of each other, everyone's really close to each other," she said.

Located just southwest of the NoHo Arts District where many aspiring musicians and actors reside, West Toluca Lake is a quiet suburb that resembles a neighborhood you'd typically find much deeper in the San Fernando Valley.

Check out the YouTube clip for a closer look at the yard sale including an interview with resident Richard Sheehan, who insisted on conducting our conversation through a mirror.
