Animal advocate and actress was honored Saturday by at its 40th Anniversary fundraising luncheon at the Universal City Hilton.
At the ceremony White was the first recipient of the Betty White Inspirational Award, honoring individuals who have inspired public awareness and appreciation of animals.
Special guests included White’s cast members Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick of TV Land’s series Hot in Cleveland, Ken Howard, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jamie Lee Curtis and Susan Lucci.
White is a seven-time Emmy winner who starred in the hit TV shows The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls. Recently she won a SAG award for her role on Hot in Cleveland.
