Magic Mirror Theatre to House New Avery Schreiber Venue

The Magnolia Boulevard location of the Avery Schreiber Theatre may be gone, but the venue is scheduled to reopen at a new spot under a slightly different name.

The Magic Mirror Theatre at 4934 Lankershim Blvd. has changed its name to the Avery Schreiber Playhouse with its debut production, Doubting Thomason, premiering Aug. 2.

In a previous post, Avery Schreiber owner Linda Fulton said she would be stepping away from live theater for a little while, but not for long apparently.

Joanne Mosconi, who heads the Magic Mirror, recently talked about the change in venue with L.A. Stage Insider.

"I know Linda (Fulton) is going to take some time off, but she is definitely going to be involved in projects here," Mosconi told the publication. "We both have such a history with children’s theater and with improv. She should definitely keep going."

Fulton has signed a lease with gastropub Fat Dog for it to take over the former location of the Avery Schreiber Theatre.
