Mini-Cheesecake Shop Replacing Grilled Cheese & Cupcakes

A family-owned business in Glendale is bringing its creations, like red velvet and salted caramel, to a storefront in Valley Village.

What was once a cupcake shop in Valley Village is reopening as a mini-cheesecake joint at the end of January.

Pacific Cheesecake Company is moving from its Glendale location to the former site of the Grilled Cheesecake & Cupcake Company inside a strip mall at 4820 Laurel Canyon Blvd.

Owner Steven Freeman, who runs the business with his mom and brothers, says there are 120 family recipes for the 2-inch cheesecakes and that 30 of them would be served at any given time.

Red velvet, banana chocolate, salted caramel and sweet lemon basil are among the most popular flavors, he said.

Pacific Cheesecake Company has a four-and-a-half star rating on Yelp. Wrote one reviewer: "Delicious cupcake sized cheesecakes in very creative flavors. The family that runs this shop clearly do it for the love of the art."
