New Restaurant Space Under Construction at NoHo Commons

Former loading dock space at the NoHo Commons is in the process of being converted into restaurant space, though it doesn't appear that a new tenant has signed a lease yet.

The part of the property, located at 5300 Lankershim Blvd., has already been fenced off and the owners filed an application with the city's planning department seeking additional retail space.

Several employees at nearby shops, as well as Councilman Paul Krekorian's office, have heard that an eatery is likely the type of business that would move in.

Eric Reuveni, NoHo Commons' leasing agent, told Patch recently that a deal has yet to be finalized with a tenant.

Patch will keep you posted on this project.

I think it is great to add more spaces to that location, my only gripe is that they do not keep that complex or garage clean! It smells and needs to be pressure washed more often....

Once again Do Not has the inside scoop. It's downright amazing! It's like The Shadow meets Clark Kent and channels Goober Pyle while on Blue Owsley. He really does have his finger on the pulse of LA-- at least 3 sq. miles of it. I'm sensing another engaging Reality TV show.... The title's eluding me, as is how I can mesh wrestling alligators-- or at least pesky bicyclists-- stalking Big Foot down Lankershim after midnight, an edgy Chauenga Blvd. Pawn Shop fleecing Suckers out of vintage, rust free 442 Oldsmobile’s, a wacky Storage Facility holding rigged auctions while swarthy Russians mill about fondling just made hundred dollar bills after a visit to the local Pot Dispensary, way-too-casual Hipster sidewalk lunches featuring bits of raw fish, assorted twice-washed bean sprouts, and some mysterious green liquid (perhaps Soylent Green?) all interlaced with the underlying dark theme of The Sons of Anarchy then integrated into a grimy urban setting that’s been recently pressure washed—at least the sidewalks-- and still seem irrelevant and make a closer 2 minute Pitch.

Perfect location for a Veggie Grill. We need one here!

What this part of the valley needs is a really high class upscale dinner house/restaurant not another diner....
Tristen Ngo January 16, 2014 at 01:52 PM
We need something like a PF Changs or a Cheesecake Factory. Maybe Veggie Grill can go into Phil's Diner closer to Laemmle.

BTW, Loving the large windows they've added.

What is this fascination with "chain" or fast food. Where are the top-notch sit down restaurants, ??? Not in NoHo
Bike2Hike January 16, 2014 at 02:20 PM
@ Tristen NO! A gastropub with it's own brewery would be perfect.
Laura January 16, 2014 at 05:12 PM
As a huge fan of gastropubs, I fear we might be reaching saturation point. One with brewery would be great though, just don't know that it would fit in that space. A nice, non-chain restaurant of almost any variety would be welcome. It seems that the character places land on Magnolia, and the Commons is full of fast food and chains. I hope this is a sign that things in general are starting to be developed again, and maybe, just maybe, that will continue down the block. I am so tired of those depressing, vacant lots.

I have begged Tender Greens to come to this area and will give them a call about this site! Vegggie Grill is a great idea too, and if the space is large enough I do love Cheesecake Factory and it would be nice to have something like that around here.
