Oak Crest Market--Liquor Store and More--Closes

It's was tough to resist taking a peek at that pile of junk outside of Oak Crest Market, but now those rows of curiosities that lined the sidewalk at 3315 Cahuenga Blvd. will likely be cleaned up

The unique liquor store has closed its doors for good to make way for a new "food-related tenant," according to Curbed L.A.

The building's management apparently did not renew the lease. There's no word yet on what will take Oak Crest's place.

Reader Marlena Bond initially tipped of Patch about the closure and said she's going to miss the mom-and-pop shop.

"It was the True Value hardware store of convenience stores, they had the usual items you see and also everything from used guitars to books, to any thing you can think of," she said, adding: "Some might get anxiety walking into the place, it was pack rat conditions, but for others, it was a wonderful museum of odds and ends and lucky finds."
