Former L.A. City Councilman Richard Alarcon:…

Pacific Cheesecake Company Opens For Business

Red velvet is among the most popular flavors.

Valley Village's first mini-cheesecake shop was welcomed to the neighborhood with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday.

A small group gathered at Pacific Cheesecake Company, located inside the Laurel Canyon Plaza, for the event and free samples.

"This center has been very busy, everybody has been really nice," says Steven Freeman, who owns the business with his brothers, Jacob and Mike, and mother, Karen.

The business relocated from Glendale and had a soft opening about four weeks ago. So far, red velvet is the most popular flavor, along with lemon basil and cookies and cream.

Pacific Cheesecake Company is open from 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays and from 8:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays.

Had a blueberry and cherry. Kinda nasty in my opinion and way over rated. They were also too "rich" or heavy in taste if you know what i mean. You cant eat more than two are you'll throw up

I completely disagree. I don't like all their flavors, but calling them overrated short-changes them. Their cheesecakes come in a size that's ideal and is all about portion-control: if you're eating more than two in a sitting, then you're eating too many. I like having my pick of many different flavors of cheesecake. Means I get to come back and try many different flavors. I love the sweet lemon basil. Just tried their PB&J, thought it was good. Summer Citrus is probably my favorite so far. "Too rich and heavy"? You do realize we're talking about cheesecake: it's supposed to be rich. If you're eating airy cheesecake, then I'm reminded of frozen-thawed diner-style slices of Sara Lee. No thank you, I'll keep eating Pacific Cheesecakes. I'm glad they're in the neighborhood: I don't know of another cheesecake bakery around here. And Cheesecake Factory doesn't count.

They have super AWESOME cheesecake... I was craving some of their cheesecake when I saw that they were no longer in my neighborhood in Glendale, I was sad but I will definitely be visiting their new location! I love that they have so many varieties and they are sooo good!
