Quiznos in Toluca Lake Closing Dec. 27

The owner of the local sandwich shops says he's offering discounted prices while supplies last.

Quiznos' financial woes are trickling down in the form of local store closures as the NoHo location has already shuttered, while its Toluca Lake storefront is going out of business by the end of the month.

"I will be closing the store, which has served Toluca Lake for 13 years, on Dec.  27 due to falling sales and rising costs," said Roger Weiss, who owns the Quiznos at 10620 Riverside Dr.

A recent Wall Street Journal article reported that Quiznos is stumbling two years into a turnaround effort and owes creditors $600 million.

Weiss said he'll be offering a discount menu starting Friday.

"All subs will be marked down to $4 small, $5 regular and $6 large while supplies last," he said.

Weiss said he owns the local franchise, not the building, so he could not comment on what might be taking over the Toluca Lake Quiznos space.

What do you think about Quiznos closing down its Toluca Lake and NoHo locations? What business do you think should take its place?
