Denny’s in North Hollywood will officially re-open its doors to the community Friday.

The restaurant, at 13136 Sherman Way, has been around some 40 years, but after years of looking like a corporate clone, it’s going to go all native on us.

That is, if you’re native to South Hollywood. The Hollywood sign is prominently featured on one wall.

“The newly-remodeled diner is one of many in the Denny’s system to be upgraded,” said Brooke Shaffer, Denny’s spokeswoman, adding that 70 percent of Denny’s restaurants will be remodeled by 2018.

To celebrate, the diner is bringing back some old-school pricing: $1.99 Grand Slam breakfasts. Remember those? Sadly, we’re old enough to answer yes.

The two-buck meals will be offered two days, from 9 a.m. Friday until midnight Saturday.
