Studio City's Pepe's NY Pizza recently opened its second location around the bend toward Universal City in the Lankershim/Ventura strip mall. Get it by the slice or the pie. The pizza is super thin and the eggplant pizza is a must-try. There's salads, sandwiches and pastas too. 11946 Ventura Blvd. (818-358-2233) and 10604 Ventura Blvd. (818-762-2335).

More "over the hill—L.A. way" restaurant talent is staking claim in the 818. The owners of Allora Cucina Italiana on West Third Street in Los Angeles are opening Ancora Cucina Italiana in La Finestra's old digs in Tarzana.  Look for this new eatery to open in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned. 19647 Ventura Blvd.

If you haven't tried Baskin-Robbins' Mini Cones, you should check them out. They're perfect for a party. Buy a pack of 16 for $14.99. Customize and mix and match your favorite flavors or pick up ready-made packs at Baskin-Robbins stores. Call first for special orders and to make sure they are in stock.

IHOP restaurants are celebrating the beginning of apple harvest season with their new Caramel Apple Sensations starting at $4.99. This limited special menu ends October 2.  Breakfast items, including the Caramel Apple Crisp Crepe and the Apple Fritter, are available all day long.

Hi! Yes, something is definitely happening there. I've stopped by a few times in hopes of bumpingRead More into the new owner but I haven't been so lucky. I've left my business card with a few construction workers but no one has gotten back to me so far. From what the workers told me, it's going to be a new restaurant. Those are all the details I have for now, but I'll keep you posted as soon as I found out more. Thanks!
ok thank you
