What Was Built, Torn Down, Opened and Closed in NoHo and Toluca Lake in 2011

Take a look at the year in business and development.

Our column chronicles new business opening, old businesses closing, ground breakings, and anything noteworthy in the areas of business and real estate.

And what a year 2011 was. Take the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and Weddington Street in the NoHo Arts District. Within just one square block, this area saw the grand openings of The Federal Bar, 24 Hour Fitness, and the Laemmle NoHo 7 movie theater, as well as the opening and then closing of Phil's Diner and the closings and openings of several small businesses at the NoHo Commons. And that's just that block.
