L.A. Student Media Festival Announces its 2013 Jury Panel

The jury panel for the third annual Los Angeles Student Media Festival has been announced.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - The jury panel for the third annual Los Angeles Student Media Festival has been announced as the group views and winnows down the 175 submissions to a final list of contenders to be announced Feb. 13.

Returning for another year as members of the jury are documentary filmmaker Melinda Farrell; Carla Garapedian, former BBC World News anchor; Monica Hicks Communications Associate for the McGroarty Arts Center in Tujunga; Veronique Vowell, Film and television location manager; and Doug Ward, Academic Administrator and animation department lecturer at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.

The Festival also welcomes six new members of the jury:  Rosalind Helfand, CFO and Organizational Development Adviser of NewFilmmakers Los Angeles; Susie Kim, co-founder and Creative Director of NewFilmmakers Los Angeles; Larry Laboe, co-founder and Executive Director of NewFilmmakers Los Angeles; Sona Movsesian, assistant to Conan O'Brien; Ron Osborn, screenwriter and producer whose credits include Meet Joe Black and The West Wing; and Alice Walton, online politics reporter for KPCC.
