Chance for Showers Through Thursday

The heat wave is gone.

Fall weather is gradually taking hold as the long streak of triple-digit temperatures that scorched the Southland until about two weeks ago is being replaced by shower forecasts.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 20 percent likelihood for showers from Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon.

There's a 40 percent chance for rain from Wednesday night through Thursday night, according to the service.
