Hollywood Counts its Chickens

How much bird can you handle?

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, NoHo Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:

– Billed by owner Mary Preston as being about "fast food with a liquor license," Birds on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood is just a stone's throw from NoHo, and well worth a trip out of the Valley.  It specializes in serving up fresh cuts of rotisserie chicken (quarters, halves, and the whole thing). There are some quirky little items on the menu, too. If you've never had a frickle (fried dill pickle with homemade ranch dip) then now might just be the time.  And dog lovers, be proud: your four-legged friend has a menu option too, right alongside the kid's meal.

5925 Franklin Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90028. Tel: 323-465-0175. Serving food daily from 11am to 11pm; full bar open until 2am. Prices: $6.50 – $14.50 entrees.

But first, we must develop credibility by learning how to spell and construct a sentence.
