Meet the Newest Real Estate Marketing Strategy: Kurt Cobain

A San Fernando Valley agent hopes a little rock history can sell a condo in North Hollywood.

Kurt Cobain is the latest perished celebrity whose likeness is being used to push a product.

No, the late front man of Nirvana isn't dancing with vacuum cleaners or appearing in any Ford cars like Steve McQueen: a San Fernando-based real estate agent has their fingers crossed Cobain's legacy can help sell a North Hollywood condo.

Judy Graff is trying to unload a unit at 5227 Denny Dr., around the corner from the former site of Devonshire Sound Studios, where the legendary grunge band mixed some material.

Devonshire is now Salami Studios, but Graff believes the history is still there.

"Kurt Cobain recorded at my new listing! Well, or close to ...," she wrote on her blog. The fact that the unit is three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a big kitchen appears to be secondary.

As for her ploy, Graff did make an admission.

"And yes, I'm sure that Kurt is rolling in his grave," she wrote.
