UPDATE: Gadget the Special-Needs Beagle is Found!

The missing dog from the Beagle Freedom Project has been located.

UPDATE: After a $1,000 reward was offered to fine Gadget, a special-needs Beagle from the North Hollywood-based Beagle Freedom Project, the dog has been discovered.

The Facebook page that was set up to help find Gadget posted the following message this morning:

Gadget is happy, healthy, and home!!! A gentleman who lives within the search area called the Beagle Freedom Project number, which is on Gadget's tag, early this morning. He simply said that he woke up to find Gadget in his front yard. Thank you everyone for all of your help!!!!

Readers had created a map charting potential sightings of the dog.

Here is the interactive map: http://www.labs.globalanimalwelfare.org

t (which is holding a fundraiser on June 5) is a local charity that rescued 40 beagles from a lab in Spain, and Gadget was one of them.

There were several potential Gadget spotting on Facebook:

POTENTIAL GADGET SIGHTING!! Young man seen waking beagle resembling GADGET near El Pollo Loco at Burbank and Whitsett!! Dog looked afraid and confused.

PLEASE LOOK FOR THIS MAN and it's possible he found Gadget, but just doesn't know it:

A man about 6 feet tall and thin with shoulder length dark blonde hair. Wearing jeans with no shirt. Likely lives near Rhodes and Burbank. Is hanging out there - was seen again without a dog around 7pm tonight.

As one concerned reader writes: "He has traveled a long way and has spent the first 5 years of his life in a cage. So he is not use to being out and is scared. There has been a group of us looking for him all weekend.

Gadget, who has special needs, was last seen near the intersection of Burbank Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard before he went missing and was described as a medium size beagle last seen with a green collar on and tags that have "Freedom Project" on them.
