Who
is Artie Chavez? He has been a collector and grower of rare and unusual
succulents since the age of 14. Artie has held numerous board positions
for the Los Angeles Cactus and Succulent Society, which he has been a
member for over 30 years. He is also a member of the Cactus and
Succulent Society, and numerous other local clubs.

Artie has
traveled extensively to Mexico, Africa, and throughout the US to expand
his knowledge of plants in habitat making him an excellent grower. Artie
and his staging of Cactus and Succulents have been featured in the Los
Angeles Daily News and his style has influenced the art of staging in
the Cactus and Succulent Shows throughout California.

Artie is
the creator and Chair of one of the most unique cactus and succulent
show sponsored by the LACSS each June at the Sepulveda Garden Center in
Encino. A must attend for sure.
