CONCERT AT THE CROWN CITY THEATRE: A NIGHT OF ACOUSTIC GUITARS!
Welcome to
our new series … opening night, Sunday January 26th @ 7:30 PM!
The
Crown City Theatre, a wonderful 60+ seat intimate venue will be hosting a "winter" series of acoustically based music concerts for the very first time. We’re starting
off with a bang … two phenomenal female virtuoso artists coming to NoHo for just one night and double headlining! Internationally acclaimed Vicki Genfan and on the rise amazing guitarist/songwriter Christie Lenee will be opening the series. Presented by Sherry Barnett, who's been producing a grassroots series in Toluca Lake titled "Concerts on the Lawn" for the past 4 years ... we're now offering an alternative public concert series for the NoHo community.
Vicki Genfan
defies categorization. A unique and fiercely original musical talent, she has
been called the ‘Jimi Hendrix of acoustic guitar.’ “While others make noise
with tapping stylings, Genfan understands the power of melody and instead makes
music.” - Kirk Albrecht, www.minor7th.com. Drawing from folk, jazz, pop, soul
and world music, Vicki has a distinctive style that pushes the boundaries of
the singer/songwriter genre. Vicki has headlined stages in venues as diverse as
the International Montreal Jazz Festival, Germany’s Open String Festival,
Italy’s Soave Guitar Festival and Festival Across Styles in the Czech Republic.
She has four CDs to her credit and four instructional DVDs, and in 2009 Luna
Guitars unveiled the Vicki Genfan Signature. She's excited to share the stage
with fellow tapper, slapper and innovator, Christie Lenée!

Christie
Lenee is a joy to behold. A truly gifted guitarist who has been capturing a
wide audience across the US, touring frequently and delivering vibrant energy
at every show. Her unique guitar work is often compared to visionaries like
Michael Hedges, Bela Fleck, Andy McKee, and John Mayer- fusing folky/funky
playfulness with pop/rock inspired songs and virtuosic guitar compositions. She
is, “a refreshing burst of unrestrained love and feeling… It’s simply a joy to
listen to her spirit break free.”

Drinks and
snacks will be available at the theatre before the show and during
intermission. Doors open 30 minutes before show time.
