Elliot Deutsch Big Band
Elliot Deutsch is an award winning arranger and composer. He received first place in the 2012 ASMAC/Bill Conti Big Band Arranging and Composing Competition for his version of “Pure Imagination.” Deutsch was also awarded a 2013 ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award for his composition, “50 Piece McChow Down.” Deutsch has written commissions for Bill Watrous, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Cheryl Bentyne (The Manhattan Transfer), Bobby Rodriguez, Metropolitan Master Choral, and The Noteables (US Air Force). His arrangements were featured on Dave Damiani’s album Watch What Happens, and on Laura Dickenson’s upcoming debut album. His music for jazz ensemble has been performed by the big bands at USC, UCLA, CSULB, Cal Arts, Cal Poly Pomona, Caltech, and Moorpark College, as well as numerous high schools. The Elliot Deutsch Big Band has performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and is included on LA Arts Commission’s prestigious musicians roster.
