Press Release for “Lenny and Loriʼs Americaʼs Got Tolerance Show”

Walter Reed Middle School in Valley Village, is taking on an important and timelyconversation in a musical-comedy way!

On November 9, 2012, Reed Middle School is presenting the 7th Grade Advanced Choir performing an original musical comedy called, “Lenny & Loriʼs AMERICAʼS GOT TOLERANCE SHOW”. This exceptional musical, originallydeveloped in conjunction with The Simon Wiesenthal Centerʼs Museum of Tolerance, embraces all of the important values that Reed stands for, includingtolerance, anti-bullying and celebrating our diversity.

Lenny and Loriʼs Americaʼs Got Tolerance Show” inspires kids to be role models for other kids while drawing upon the ethnically diverse strengths of the communities in which it is performed.

As they have for generations in Aesops Fables, the “Lion and the Lamb”, Lenny and Lori, return with a message of acceptance and respect.

The overture of the show is a short film that includes interviews with students, faculty and parents on how bullying, tolerance and accepting our differences affects all of our lives.

New material was created around the talent of the cast and concentrating on current concerns about how bullying is affecting children nationwide. The original song “We Belong”, was created to draw attention to the all too common confrontations between bullies and their victims. Other songs include: “It Hurts When You Call Me Names”, “Tolerance, Peace, Love”, and “Why Canʼt Everybody Be Just Like Me”.

If all the countries in the world could come together as our characters do in “Lenny and Loriʼs Americaʼs Got Tolerance Show” we might finally attain that all too illusive “peace on earth”!

This show has such a positive impact on the children and on the communities perception of acceptance and kindness, we believe it should be performed in every school across America!

Please come join us for a very significant and unforgettable experience, the premiere performance of “Lenny and Loriʼs Americaʼs Got Tolerance Show”.
