NICK MANCINI has performed and recorded with such diverse luminaries as Arturo Sandoval, Charles Fambrough, Harvey Mason, Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Poncho Sanchez, Kenny Werner, New York Voices & Jennifer Holliday; and at notable venues such as The World Famous Apollo Theater; Showtime at the Apollo, Birdland NYC, the Aspen Music Festival, Ford Amphitheater, Fasching Jazz Club (Stockholm), Angel City Jazz Festival, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Catalina Jazz Club, The Blue Whale, Zipper Hall, HotelCafe & virtually every jazz venue in Los Angeles. In the summer of 2011, Mancini was celebrated as the Honoree at the 18th annual Jazz Vibes Summit in Los Angeles and was invited to the faculty at California State University at Northridge and Long Beach. Earlier that same year his face graced the cover of Ventana Monthly. He is on the fore-most leading edge of the creative music scene in LA. In addition to a busy performing career he also curates a performance series called "elastic hour", and produced, MC'd and recorded the 1 year anniversary/benefit concert festival at LA's premier jazz venue, The Blue Whale. In the realm of production he has arranged and overseen the production of 4 records by vocalists & boasts 6 independently released records under his own name, the latest entitled, "storyteller," which features 14 original compositions and some of LA's finest creative musicians.
