Community Corner

Service of Celebration

On Monday, August 29, the local faith community will host an interfaith Service of Celebration to mark the first anniversary of Family Promise's work in the East San Fernando Valley.  The Service of Celebration will take place from 7:30 - 8:30 pm at Adat Ari El Synagogue, Deiber Chapel.  Service leaders will include clergy and congregants from the Family Promise community.

Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley opened in July 2010 as one of over 160 networks across the country affiliated with Family Promise, a national nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families with children to achieve lasting independence.  Family Promise helps mobilize communities to provide safe shelter, meals and support services for homeless families through programs designed to redress the underlying causes of homelessness.  Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley serves the geographic area that includes North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale and Eagle Rock, California through the participation of an Interfaith Hospitality Network of local congregations and volunteers.
