Summer is definitely here. The school year for North Hollywood High and East Valley High finished last week, and on Saturday the public pools open for business.
The pools are open starting Saturday through August 12 at the and .
If you are at the NoHo pool, make sure to check out the new artwork mural that has been installed on the north wall near the pool made up of several hundred 6 inch by 6 inch tiles each individually painted by children that have attended the Christmas party at the park over the last few years. Diann Corral organized the mural and it was donated by the Midtown NoHo Neighborhood Council. It is quite an impressive display, so make sure to stop by and check it out if you are in the park. (See attached photos.)
Hours are subject to change, but the park's Web site says open swim time at both pools is scheduled for 1- 5 p.m. on weekends and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday through July 1. (Hours change in July.)
There are also plenty of organized activities, such as Novice Swim Team, Inner-Tube Water Polo, Novice Synchronized Swimming and plenty of swimming lessons, as well as scheduled lap time. (See the attached PDFs for all details).
Open swim time is free for kids and seniors and $2.50 for adults ($2 with a library card).
