A Moving Tribute to Zina Bethune, Killed in Tragic Hit-and-Run

Police are asking for the public's help in a hit-and-run collision that , a renowned ballet dancer and teacher of disabled children. Police believe Bethune was killed while trying to help a wounded animal.

Nancy Bianconi, editor of NoHoArtsDistrict.com, knew Bethune and had just spoken to her last week. She has written a moving tribute to Bethune covering her life, her work and her deep connections to the NoHo Arts District.

Detectives are seeking information on a white car seen leaving the scene of Bethune's death early Sunday on the 6000 block of Forest Lawn Drive. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact detectives Felix Padilla or Josephine Mapson at (213) 972-1825.
