I heard today that the owner of Odyssey video passed away. He was always nice whenever we came in and outlasted Blockbuster.

Rest in Peace Willy, Thank you!

Hi, Maria: Where did you hear about this? Definitely worth a story.

I went to Odyssey video for the last 5 years on average of 1 day a week. I got to know Willie pretty good. He was a super sweet guy, genuine and fun to talk to. He was cool and kind to everyone. I went to Odyssey video on Monday, (1-6-14) and my heart dropped when the clerk told me Willie past away 3 days earlier on the 3rd. I still can't believe I will never see or talk to him again. The clerk told me they have no idea what is going to happen to the store now. I hope it stays open because it is a great old school video store with some hard to find DVD's and VHS. Arin Mikailian, I hope you do a story on this. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my interactions with Willie (thats how his name was printed on his receipts) and Odyssey video Willie….you will never be forgotten. Thanks for being so cool to me over the years. Mike

Hi Arin I heard this sad news earlier this week. I've also went to odyssey frequently and Willie was always nice to let us bring our dog in. Odyssey video has been a personal landmark to me and I hope it gets to stay open. Plus it's the only rental place we have for movies. Please do a story about this!
