UPDATED: 1 Person Killed in 5-Way Intersection Crash

One driver was killed Wednesday afternoon in a three-car crash that occurred in the middle of a five-way intersection near the NoHo Arts District, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The Lankershim Boulevard collision was reported at 2:15 p.m., said Sgt. Robert White.

He said the driver of a 2004 Toyota Highlander in a northbound left turn lane on Lankershim went straight instead and struck a 2008 Acura TSX heading westbound on Camarillo Street.

The Highlander lost control and crashed into a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe, which was stopped at a red light facing southbound on Lankershim Boulevard, police said.

The driver of the Highlander was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name was withheld pending notification of kin, police said.

Three other people were transported to a hospital with unknown injuries, he said.
