UPDATE: 15-Year-Old Boy Shot to Death in North Hollywood Identified

The deadly attack occurs on the 11000 block of Tiara Street, according to police.

A 15-year-old boy was killed in North Hollywood tonight in what police believe was a gang-related shooting.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of Tiara Street, near Oxnard Street, said Officer Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations section.

The victim, who was fired upon multiple times by a male suspect, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Rayner said.

At the crime scene, LAPD North Hollywood homicide detectives searched for evidence with the help of flashlights, as patrol officers guarded the taped off Tiara Street, near the intersection of Fulcher Avenue.

When asked if there were any new details available about the crime, a North Hollywood police officer who declined to be named, stated that there is still an ongoing investigation and police could not provide any additional information at the moment.

UPDATE: The teen shooting victim was identified today as Miguel Angel Sanchez of North Hollywood, according to Los Angeles police and Craig Harvey of the coroner's office.
