3 Injured by Wrong-Way Driver on 170 Freeway

The motorist behind the collisions is being investigated for driver under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Three people are reported to have suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning in the second of two collisions caused by a wrong-way driver on the Hollywood (170) Freeway in the Valley Glen area.

A driver was reported to have been headed north in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Laurel Canyon Boulevard just before 3 a.m., said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada. The wrong-way motorist was then involved in a non-injury two-vehicle collision and a second two-vehicle collision with minor injuries, Posada said.

Three people were taken to hospitals, a news photographer reported from the scene.
