UPDATE: Alleged Drunk Driver Caused Toluca Lake Crash

A man is arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after running a red light and crashing into another car.

Drunk driving was the cause of a two-car collision in Toluca Lake Tuesday that landed two people in the hospital with injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

An impaired driver behind the wheel of a Toyota pick up truck was heading eastbound on Riverside Drive when he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle traveling northbound on Cahuenga Boulevard around 5:30 p.m., said Sgt. Dawn-Amber McCallum.

The female driver of the struck car was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with a broken clavicle and rib bones as well as a bleeding kidney, while her passenger complained of neck and back pain, McCallum said.
