Archdiocese Releases Photo, Video to Help Catch St. Patrick's Vandal
Church officials are hoping someone can offer information that may lead to the arrest of a vandal who knocked down statues and damaged paintings.
The Los Angeles Archdiocese released the surveillance video of a vandal entering St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Hollywood.
The crime at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at 6153 Cahuenga Blvd. occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, when someone pushed over several statues and vases and damaged some paintings, police said.
Monica Valencia released the video and photos in hopes that someone with information about the crime will come forward. She said police have few leads.
She said the church has not come up with a damage estimate for the vandalism, adding that they were fortunate a fire did not ignite when some candles were knocked over.
The vandal entered while the church was still open to the public, Valencia said. St. Patrick's is open until 9:30 p.m.
