Bicyclist Killed in Collision Identified

The victim was heading west on Oxnard Street during the early morning hours of Oct. 12.

UPDATE: The victim was identified as Jose Juan Heredia, 64, of North Hollywood, said LA County Coroner Spokesperson Craig Harvey.

A bicyclist in his 60s was killed Friday in a collision with a vehicle in the North Hollywood area, police said.

The man died at the scene of the crash, which happened about 6 a.m. at Oxnard Street and Radford Avenue, according to Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities withheld his name, pending notification of kin.

According to the preliminary investigation, the man was riding west on Oxnard Street and the vehicle was southbound on Radford Avenue and turning right onto Oxnard Street when the collision happened, French said.

The motorist remained at the scene and was interviewed by police. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
