Classic Chevy Bel Air Stolen

A 55-year old model vanishes in North Hollywood.

A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air was stolen from Peachgrove Street and Klump Avenue where it was parked on the street.

When the owner returned to the location he noticed the classic car was missing. The vehicle's doors were locked at the time of the theft, according to a community alert from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The car was painted turquoise with candy apple red flames on the hood and doors.

Bel Airs were made from 1953-75.

The 1957 model is a "favorite with hot-rodders and classic car enthusiasts," according to Old Ride.
