Deputies Close Metro Red Line Station in North Hollywood

The closure was prompted by an unspecified security issue.

The Metro Red Line Station in North Hollywood was closed for about 90 minutes today when somebody found a threatening note and gave it to a train operator.

Ramon Montenegro of the Sheriff's Transit Services Bureau said a passenger found the note around 12:40 p.m. at the station in the 5300 block of Lankershim Boulevard.

"It was some kind of threat," he said.

The station was shut down while investigators conducted a search. Red Line service between North Hollywood -- which is the line's northern terminus -- and the Universal City station was halted, with buses shuttling passengers between the locations and prompting roughly 30-minute delays.

Sheriff's officials cleared the scene shortly after 2 p.m., and normal train service resumed.
